California Contractors License Surety Bond - RMO-RME - General Contractor
General Contractors working in the State of California are required to post a General Contractors License Surety Bond when securing their California Contractors License. The bond is for the benefit of the consumer who may be damaged as a result of defective workmanship and for the benefit of employees for unpaid wages.
When the Contractors License is secured using a Responsible Managing Employee (RME) or Responsible Managing Officer (RMO), otherwise known as a Qualified Individual, a Surety Bond of Qualifying Individual is required. If the license has more than one RME or RMO qualifying the license, each qualifier must post a Surety Bond of Qualifying Individual.
