Oregon Contractors License Surety Bond - Commercial General Level 2

The Oregon Construction Contractor Licensing Act, requires any “person” that is engaged, for a fee or other valuable compensation, in any construction activity involving improvements to real estate to be licensed with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board.

A license is required for any “person” that advertises, offers, bids or arranges to do, or actually does any construction, alteration, remodeling, or repair involving residential, commercial, industrial, or public works improvements. Inspection services, tree services, chimney sweep businesses and developers who build structures with the intent to sell are also required to become licensed.

The Oregon Commercial General Contractor (Level 2) (CGC2) endorsement is for contractors that supervise, arrange for, or perform (partly or completely) an unlimited number of unrelated building trades involving any small or large commercial structure or project.

Level 1 and Level 2 contractors can perform the same work.

A Level 2 contractor must have 4 years of construction experience.

The Commercial General Contractor (Level 2) (CGC2) Contractors License endorsement requires the licensee to post and maintain a $20,000.00 Commercial Contractors License Surety Bond.
