Nevada Permit Vendor and Service Provider Bond
The Director may appoint vendors to serve as agents of the Department of Motor Vehicles to sell temporary permits to any person entering the state with a commercial motor vehicle which has a gross vehicle weight rating or combined gross vehicle weight rating in excess of 10,000 pounds. The vendor is required to collect the fees for the permits issued pursuant to chapter 706 of NRS and pay them to the Department of Motor Vehicles. In accordance with NRS 481.051 a Permit Vendor shall guarantee payment to the State of Nevada by posting a Nevada Permit Vendor and Service Provider Bond in an amount not less than $25,000, to be set by the Director of The Department of Motor Vehicles.
The temporary permit fee is based upon a fee of $5 plus 15 cents for each mile the Department estimates the vehicle will travel within the State of Nevada during the effective period of the temporary permit.
