Utah Telemarketer License Surety Bond
Unless exempt, each telephone solicitation business must register annually with the Division of Consumer Protection - Telemarketing Organizations before engaging in telephone solicitations or operations. If the telephone soliciting business engages in or operates in telephone solicitations that originate or are received in the state of Utah, they must post and maintain a performance surety bond to the state in one of the following amounts:

$25,000 Bond is required for entities and affiliated persons who have not had a violation of Utah Code Ann. §13-26(3) within 3 years of the application date and the telephone soliciting business has fewer than 10 employees |

$50,000 Bond is required for entities and affiliated persons who have not had a violation of Utah Code Ann. §13-26(3) within 3 years of the application date and the telephone soliciting business has more than 10 employees | |
$75,000 Bond is required if the telephone soliciting business or any affiliated persons has violated Utah Code Ann. §13-26(3) within 3 years of the application date. |
The purpose of the bond is so that the division may recover any investigative costs, attorney fees and other associated costs of collecting and distributing funds upon the non compliance of the licensee.
