Texas Veterans Organizations Solicitors License Surety Bonds

The Texas Secretary of State requires all organizations that either "solicit as" or "solicit for" a Veterans Organization to be licensed accordingly.  If the organization is a veterans organization (soliciting as) legally chartered by the United States Congress, a Veterans Organizations Solicitors License Surety Bonds of $1,000.00 is required, otherwise:

If the organization is not chartered by the United States Congress and they are soliciting as  a veterans organization, the surety bond requirements are as follows:

  • $5,000.00 if the organization solicits in not more than one county;
  • $10,000.00 if the organization solicits in more than one county but fewer than six counties; or
  • $25,000.00 if the organization solicits in more than five counties.

If the organization is a solicitor for a veterans organization, the surety bond requirements are as follows: 

  •  $5,000.00 if the solicitor solicits in not more than one county;
  • $10,000.00 if the solicitor solicits in more than one county but fewer than six counties;
  • $25,000.00 if the solicitor solicits in more than five counties.
