California Farm Labor Contractors License Surety Bond
By definition a “Farm Labor Contractor” is any person who, for compensation, employs workers to render personal services in connection with the planting, growth or harvesting of any farm products to, for, or under the direction of a third person, or anyone who recruits, solicits, supplies, or hires workers on behalf of an employer engaged in the planting, growth or harvesting of farm products, and who, for compensation, provides in connection therewith one or more of the following services: furnishes room, board, or transportation for these workers; supervises, times, checks, counts, weighs, or otherwise directs or measures their work; or disburses wage payments to these persons. A “Farm labor contractor” also includes any “day hauler.” By definition a “Day hauler” means any person who is employed by a farm labor contractor to transport, or who for a fee transports workers to render personal services in connection with the planting, growth or harvesting of any farm products to, for, or under the direction of a third person.
As part of securing this license designation, you are required to post a Farm Labor Contractors License Surety Bond in an amount set by the obligee.
